The Revd. Dr. Jacob Thomas M.A, BD, M.Th, D.Th Early Life and Education: Our Presbyter The Revd. Dr. Jacob Thomas (Sunny Achen) was born in Singapore and brought up in Kerala, India. He was educated at CMS College High School, Kottayam and then the graduation (BA) and Masters Degree(MA) in Economics at St. Berchman’s College, Changanacherry. Then he completed his Theological education (BD) at Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) Pune (then Yavatmal now in Pune). His further studies were at Harvard Divinity School in The United States where he got Masters degree in Theology (M.Th). He carried on Post Graduate studies at Keble College, Oxford in the United Kingdom and went on to complete Doctoral Studies (D.Th) through Serampur University, West Bengal in India. Ministry: Following completion of his doctoral studies in Missiology, Rev. Jacob was appointed as Assistant Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Union Biblical Seminary in Pune, where he also served as Academic Dean. Revd. Dr. Jacob Thomas was ordained in 1982 with the Diocese of Central Kerala and he has been a theological educator throughout life. He is currently at Belfast Bible College, Belfast, Northern Ireland in The United Kingdom, teaching Mission and Christian Ethics. Family: Rev. Jacob’s wife Mrs. Elizabeth Jacob (Emily Kochamma) is also a Theological graduate. They are blessed with three grown up children Ajay, Vijay and Sujaya.
